Long Weeks
So, I think this has been a couple of the longest weeks of my life. It has also been some of the most emotional and trying times of my career. There are so many things that I wish I had control over, but alas, I do not. More than anything I just wish I knew what was going to happen next year. I feel like my worth as a coach has been measured and found lacking, even without me having the opportunity to provide any input. It surprises me that people expect things to just be "business", when everything anyone does clearly has motive, which makes it personal. Someone wins and someone loses in most situations, so it is always personal to someone. I honestly don't know what direction to turn, but I feel like every time I try to make a change, I just get slapped in the face all over again. And, why are the people in charge so petty that they can't even look their teachers in the eye and explain anything. And they talk about being "unprofessional" - ha! All of this mess has definitely made me realize that I have absolutely no desire to be in administration, and I'm questioning my career in education. I dropped my master's class yesterday and requested to be withdrawn from the program. There is absolutely no need for me to spend the money to obtain a M.Ed. for any reason. I just wonder why the administration gets so caught up in forcing things to fit into this stupid puzzle at the price of losing good workers. I understand that there is a lot of work that goes into the logistics of it all, but at what cost? I seems to me that the priorities in our educational system need to be strongly reconsidered.

Flirty and flippy
So, apparently I am neither flirty nor flippy. Someone told me the other day that they didn't even know that I was interested in dating or marriage. Makes me kind of wonder what vibe I'm giving off?!

Stuck
So, I feel like every aspect of my life right now is completely out of my control. I know that I have control issues, but this goes beyond that. I feel like I don't even have a choice in anything right now. I'm very frustrated and just stuck.
I'm not to a point where I'm ready to deal with any of it the "right" way. I want to be able to enjoy myself and enjoy my life, and I can't seem to get there. I over analyze everything to a point where nothing is enjoyable. I have a need to be multitasking whenever and wherever I am, just so that I am not wasting time. Why can I not just do what I want?! Why do I always have to consider everyone else?
I'm motivated and working towards some goals, but at the same time, I am questioning the worth of those goals... What is the point, really?

Crappy week
Rough week last week... eating went to crap. Sleeping was crappy...
Overall, not a great week. Luckily, I get to start over tomorrow, so I need to eat some more of the sopapilla cheesecake tonight!

Working Out
So, I think I might be addicted to working out. As tough as it is to get going some days, it really feels like I forgot something if I don't work out. Finding time is still sometimes a challenge, but I'm doing it. Here's hoping this really is a lifestyle change, not just a passing phase!

22-Jan
Not a great day, healthwise. Ate crap, feel like crap... Ridiculous, really that I can't seem to understand that correlation ahead of time! Here's hoping tomorrow is full of better choices and is more productive!

20-Jan
Today was a great day! Eating was good - ate tuna for lunch and chicken for dinner - yeah for more protein! Also, working out was good. I had the opportunity to skip today's workout, but ran for 20 minutes anyways. Feels good to want to workout!
And I got to end the day talking to Marce - who was so hyped up on coffee and adrenaline that, if I didn't know better, I would have thought she was on straight crack. Haha!

18-Jan
Did well today. Resisting the temptation for a cookie right now, but I'm at my calorie limit, so I guess I'll hold out for tomorrow. Need to find ways to increase my protein intake without increasing my calories. Rode the stationary bike today for 25 minutes, and did some abs.

Accountability
Back to accountability... here's hoping that blogging on a regular basis will help me hold myself more accountable.
I need to focus on eating healthier and working out on a regular basis, so I'm going to blog about those things, as well as anything else that is on my mind.
I took a billion personal assessments and inventories as part of an assignment in this first Master's course, and apparently my top 3 intelligences (of the 8 Multiple Intelligences) are Math/Logic (go figure), Kinesthetic, and Intrapersonal. I was surprised by the intrapersonal - it says that I should journal and do self-reflection activities in order to learn and grow. So, here it goes...

Food and the Bible
I found this interesting post on SparkPeople concerning food and the Bible:
"I can do anything I want to if Christ has not said no, but some of these things aren't good for me. Even if I am allowed to do them, I'll refuse to if I think they might get such a grip on me that I can't easily stop when I want to. For instance, take the matter of eating. God has given us an appetite for food and stomachs to digest it. But that doesn't mean we should eat more than we need. Don't think of eating as important, because some day God will do away with both stomachs and food. 1 Corinthians 6:12-13
Here's The Message translation. I like this even better:
1 Corinthians 6:12-13 (The Message)
12Just because something is technically legal doesn't mean that it's spiritually appropriate. If I went around doing whatever I thought I could get by with, I'd be a slave to my whims.
13You know the old saying, "First you eat to live, and then you live to eat"? Well, it may be true that the body is only a temporary thing, but that's no excuse for stuffing your body with food, or indulging it with sex. Since the Master honors you with a body, honor him with your body!
Definitely puts some things into perspective!!!

Casts suck
I have never actually broken anything that I am aware of, but somehow ended up with a cast on my right arm because of some new drill I tried to do during volleyball camp. I pulled or strained the ligaments on top of my thumb and now I feel so unproductive it's ridiculous really... I can't write, so that basically leaves me without the ability to think. I am definitely starting to understand where my obsession with writing utensils comes from...

Sunrise
This is the view from my front yard - the sunrise was absolutely beautiful the other day - I had to take a couple of pictures of it...

4th of July
I am reminded today how many people in my immediate family are/were in the United States Armed Forces. It is amazing to me that they and so many countless others are willing to sacrifice their lives, time with family and loved ones, careers, and everything else just to be a part of something bigger. It's a shame that we don't celebrate them more often then just on national holidays...
That being said, I am also reminded how much I take my family for granted. They are amazing, and I am looking forward to spending time with them today celebrating our country and our freedom.

Good Quote...
Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning, Satan shudders and says, “Oh crap....she's awake!"
